Whitney Collins
Attorney
As an attorney with the firm, Whitney represents clients in all areas of family law, including, but not limited to, contested divorces, modification of parenting plans, dependency and neglect proceedings, emergency custody proceedings, conservatorships, adoptions, and orders of protection.
Whitney was born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. Before joining LaFevor and Slaughter, Whitney worked as a solo practitioner for over ten years. While working as a solo, Whitney practiced family law, criminal defense, workers’ compensation, Social Security disability, and general civil litigation. Prior to working in solo practice in Tennessee, Whitney lived in Wyoming and Colorado and worked in title law as it relates to mineral rights in Wyoming and Colorado. Whitney also previously worked as an attorney in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, practicing civil litigation, with an emphasis on business litigation defense.
Whitney has a diverse background of legal experience, and she has represented clients from all walks of life. Whitney approaches all cases with compassion, and her goal is to connect with clients and help them obtain the best possible results for their case. Whitney has extensive courtroom experience, and she provides tenacious and aggressive representation for all of her clients.
When not in the office, Whitney enjoys practicing yoga, spending time with friends and family, traveling, and, of course, cheering on the Tennessee Vols!
